CATANI trainer Graeme Jose left Sunday’s Sale greyhound meeting with four winners.
Jose’s Aston Jupiter won one of the feature races, the 440 metre GRV Vic Bred grade five final, by a neck after passing Dr Knuckles, trained by Bill McMahon at Darriman, in the home straight.
Perfect Product won a 440m grade five for Jose.
Jose’s dogs won the first two races, both heats of the 440m maiden series: Hypo Harry and Gold Skulltula. The third heat was won by Omega Sierra, trained by Barry Harper at Seaspray.
Harper had a second winner in the 440m free for all, when Omega Dodge held off a challenge from Jet Lee Rose, trained by Jeff Chignell at Rosedale.
Financial Tarra, a $27.60 outsider trained by Corey Fulford at Bundalaguah, won the 650m with a blistering run in the straight to finish a length ahead of favourite Showtime Boomer, trained by Matt Clark at Briagolong.
Following three consecutive second placings, Claydon won the 520m grade final for McMahon. Rose’s Honey came third for Carolyn Jones at Rosedale.
In the 440m grade seven, Merinda, trained by Bev Proctor at Alberton West, went to the lead early and was never headed, finishing six lengths clear of Somerton Rose, trained by Michael Delaney at Cobains.
Old Man Trapper, trained by Clark, took out the 440m mixed grade six and seven, claiming a third win from six starts.
ON Friday night in Sale, Tarlee won a 440m grade six for Jenny Gill at Darriman.
Angel Eyes, trained by Jones, won a 520m race by three lengths from Geena Bale, trained by Susan Northway at Heyfield, and Madalia Pixie, trained by Kathleen Fogarty at Heyfield.
The 440m damsels’ dash became a two-dog race, with Molly’a Lass, trained by Ronald Winter at Denison, beating Prize Diamond, trained by Susan Northway at Heyfield, by a nose.
Dr Xander won the 440m mixed grade four and five for Kim McMahon at Darriman by a nose from Nifty Nelly.
Shantelle Rose, trained by Sharon-Lee Chignell at Rosedale, won a 440m grade five.
THE next meeting in Sale will be on Friday.
