THE locals went two from two in the AFL at the weekend, in the final bye round of the season.

Josh Dunkley is in some serious form.

He was the Brisbane Lions’ highest-ranked player in their 28-point win over St Kilda at Marvel Stadium on Friday night.

Dunkley, from Yarram, collected 26 disposals, but was prominent all over the field, racking up six marks, seven tackles, three clearances, three score involvements (including his own major) and more than 400 metres gained.

Last night, Dunkley played against Richmond, a team coached by Rosedale Football-Netball Club premiership player Andrew McQualter.

McQualter, the interim coach, has officially thrown his hat in the ring to coach the Tigers fulltime next season.

Collingwood secured another nail-biting win, beating Adelaide on Sunday at the MCG.

The Magpies got home by two points, going to the top of the ladder in the process.

Sale’s Scott Pendlebury was industrious as always, collecting 24 touches, laying three tackles and having three clearances.

He is showing he can still do it at the ripe old age of 35, as he edges closer to 400 games.

Collingwood will also be in Queensland this weekend, when they take on the Suns in a Saturday afternoon twilight fixture.
