Wildcats setting the pace

WOODSIDE continues to set the pace at the top of the North Gippsland netball ladder following a 51-35 victory over Rosedale.

On Saturday, the Wildcats sounded an ominous warning that they are the team to beat by convincingly defeating the premiership favourite.

Woodside sits two points clear of nearest rival Churchill, who powered up to second spot courtesy of a 39-34 win over Sale City at Stephenson Park.

Yarram had a top day on the court, defeating Gormandale 64-35, having controlled proceedings from the get-go.

Traralgon-Tyers United recorded its first success of the season with a hard-fought 33-28 victory over Yallourn-Yallourn North. The home side went into the clash as the outsider, but pack enough quality when it mattered most to finally breakthrough in season 2021.

Glengarry proved too strong for Cowwarr, with the 64-40 win lifting the Magpies to sixth spot.

Heyfield had the bye.

BOISDALE-Briagolong and Stratford lost their East Gippsland netball matches on Saturday.

The Bombers lost at home to Lakes Entrance, 44-39, and have gone from third spot on the ladder to fourth. The Seagulls moved up to fifth, just two points behind the Bombers.

Stratford is now in sixth after losing in Lindenow, 41-33. The Cats moved into third position with the victory.

Second-placed Orbost-Snowy Rovers was too strong for Lucknow, winning 57-22.Undefeated ladder leader Wy Yung had the bye.
