Sale’s Gippsland Salt Company, Gippsland Accounting Solutions and Jones Civil Group, Maffra’s The Vines On Avon and Yarram’s The Fibreglass Factory have been named 2023 Gippsland Business Award finalists.
Gippsland Salt Company, Gippsland Accounting Solutions, Jones Civil Group, The Vines On Avon and The Fibreglass Factory are among the 52 businesses across the 13 industry and specialist categories vying for the 2023 Federation University Gippsland Business Awards.
The Federation University Gippsland Business Awards are the region’s leading business and industry prizes, highlighting the successful efforts of local Gippsland businesses.
Graeme Sennett, chairperson of the Gippsland Business Awards committee, said a diverse selection of outstanding entrants from various industries battled to become finalists in this year’s Gippsland Business Awards.
“Once again, we have been astounded by the diverse range of finalists,” Mr Sennett said.
“With entries from every part of Gippsland, it is clear that our small to medium businesses continue to prove themselves to be leaders in their field.”
The 2023 Gippsland Business Awards categories include Accommodation, Beauty and Personal Care, Business and Professional Services, Food and Wine Producers, Health and Well-being, Hospitality, Innovation, Manufacturing, Mechanical Trades and Construction, New Business, Retail, Tourism Activities and Attractions and the 25th Anniversary Award.
Gippsland Salt Company is founded, owned and directed by partners in business, life and love, Sally Brabham and Emma Paynter. They are first-time Gippsland Business Award finalists, were last week named as 2023 finalists in the Food & Wine Producers category.
Gippsland Salt Company’s announcement as a finalist in the 2023 Gippsland Business Awards comes just weeks after the local salt company was named finalist in the Australian Rural Business Awards -People’s Choice Award.
Gippsland Accounting Solutions, directed by Justin Robson CPA, James March CPA, Rebecca Considine and Ben Coleman, are one of four finalists in the New Business category.
Gippsland Accounting Solutions is up against Traralgon’s Dental Republic, Trafalgar’s Gippsland Cleaning and Maintenance and Yallourn North’s Rooster Tours in the 2023 Gippsland Business Awards New Business category.
The Vines On Avon represents Maffra in the Hospitality category of this year’s Gippsland Business Awards, alongside Korumburra’s Burra Brewing, Thorpdale’s Travellers Rest Hotel (Vic) Pty Ltd, and Warragul’s Everything’s Better with Wine.
Jones Civil Group is among the 2023 Gippsland Business Award finalists in the Mechanical Trades and Construction category, while The Fibreglass Factory has been named a finalist in the Manufacturing category.
Each category winner will be announced at the gala presentation on Friday, August 24, at Federation University’s Gippsland campus in Churchill.
The Gippsland Business of the Year will be chosen from the category winners and revealed during the ceremony.
With the Gippsland Business Awards celebrating their 25th anniversary this year, Mr Sennett said this year’s face-to-face gala would be an extra special occasion.
“We are proud to celebrate 25 years of Gippsland business excellence,” he said.
“We look forward to acknowledging and honouring all our finalists at this premier business event in Gippsland.”
Last year, two of Sale’s six Gippsland Business Awards nominees were awarded category winners: Scarlett & Grace in Manufacturing/Export and Siesta Central Apartments in Accommodation.
Foster-based boutique beverage producer Gurneys Cidery won the top honour at the 2022 Gippsland Business Awards, named the prestigious Gippsland Business of the Year.
