Glengarry collision

MAJOR Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision in Glengarry on Tuesday.

Police were told three cars were involved in a collision at the intersection of Traralgon-Maffra Road and Farmers Road about 3.50pm.

The driver of one of the vehicles, a 35-year-old Glengarry man, died at the scene.

His passenger, a six-year-old-boy, was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition.

A 22-year-old Traralgon man, who was driving the second vehicle, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

He is assisting police with their enquiries.

The four occupants of the third vehicle were not injured.

The exact cause of the collision is yet to be determined and the investigation is ongoing.

Indecent act in Sale

SALE Police are aware of an incident that occurred on January 18 at the Gippsland Centre in Sale, where a male was allegedly seen masturbating in public.

That afternoon, the male was identified and arrested by police, where he was later released, charged and bailed to attend court at a later date.

Police said these matters are taken seriously and swift action was taken.

Missing trailer

IN the early afternoon of January 9, 2023, an unknown person allegedly attended a machinery shed in Kilmany, taking home a fabricated horse float.

The float is described as a white angle float with green and silver stripes. ‘Rand’ is printed on the front above (pictured).

Stolen vehicle in Maffra

BETWEEN about 10am and 11.30am on Thursday, January 19, unknown offender/s allegedly attended an address in Sandy Creek Road, Maffra and gained access to the garage and house.

They allegedly stole a white Renault Koleos wagon – registration BLE332 – from the garage.

Truck collides with cyclist

ON January 12 at around 10.40am, a 30-year-old female was riding her bicycle north on Bengworden Road, Cobains. She was allegedly overtaken by a small white truck which clipped her right shoulder as it passed.

The collision caused the woman to fall off her bicycle, and as a result she sustained widespread grazing to her right arm, shoulder, and leg, which required medical treatment.

An unknown passer-by assisted the female and took her to Bairnsdale Hospital for treatment. Police are asking for any witnesses who may have further details of the vehicle involved to contact Constable Dickinson at Bairnsdale Police on 5150 2600 or Crime Stoppers.

Bicycle theft

ON Saturday January 21, at around 3.15pm, the victim left his bike – an Intense 951 XC outside of the Gippsland Centre Plaza for a short period of time.

The victim went to retrieve his bike, but it had been allegedly stolen.

Police are appealing to anyone that may have seen this bike; a silver Intense 951 XC outside the Gippsland Centre Plaza last month.

Abandoned bike?

SALE Police are appealing to locate the owner of a bicycle which was left in a local park on the January 24, 2023, appearing to be abandoned.

The bike is waiting to be reunited with its owner.

Any information to help return it can be phoned through to Sale Police Station, and if the owner wishes to claim, proof of ownership is required before collection.

Is this your bike? Sale Police are appealing to locate the owner of this bicycle, that was left in a local park on January 24.

Lost drone

A BLACK drone was located on November 22 in Woodburne Drive in Sale, and has been handed into Sale Police Station.

If this is your drone, phone Sale Police Station on 5142 2200. Proof of ownership will be required upon collection.

Woman hit by Subaru

A 21-year-old Traralgon East man was arrested in Kew on January 18 and charged with dangerous drive causing serious injury, fail to remain at collision scene, fail to render assistance and fail to report a collision.

It is alleged a woman was hit by a red Subaru in a motel car-park on Blackburn Road, Mount Waverley, just after 6am.

The driver of the Subaru allegedly fled the scene, and the 35-year-old woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
