Airly PS learns about Anzac Day

Airly Primary School students Ciandra and Birdie prepare to lay a wreath.

LEARNING about Anzac Day is always significant at Airly Primary School.

This year’s service, presented by all Grade 6 students, was particularly interesting as the school community learnt about the forefathers of the school – 16 returned World War 1 soldiers.

Airly Primary School was founded following the demand of the soldier’s needs to educate their children in a time when it took a lot longer to travel around town. While there’s no horses tethered to the fence anymore, the idea of serving community is still strong.

Airly Primary School is celebrating its centenary on October 12.

Everyone is welcome to join in being a part of the school’s past, present and future. Following a cake cutting, there is the option to travel down to the Airly Hall to celebrate their 120th year.
