Maffra Municipal Band

Maffra Municipal Band has a jampacked schedule next month, with several performances throughout October.

Maffra Band Rotunda – Maffra Municipal Band’s training band and string orchestra – will be entertaining the crowds with toe-tapping tunes on Saturday, October 7, from 10.30am.

Later in the day, the Ukestra Group will perform at the Briag Uke Muster.

Maffra Municipal Band’s stage band will be performing at the Maffra Recreation Reserve function rooms on Saturday, October 14, from 7pm until late, with the 19-piece stage band performing hits from jazz, swing, Latin, big band, 60s, 70s, 80s to today.

Tickets cost $10, with drinks at bar prices. Bring your own nibbles. There is also a chance to win a bar fridge.

On Sunday, October 22, the Maffra Municipal Band will perform Young Person’s Guide to the Concert Band at the Maffra Memorial Hall. This Children’s Week Activity, funded by the Education Department of Victoria, is a free and exciting opportunity to learn about the instruments in the concert band filled with lots of audience participation, singing, dancing and playing.

On Saturday, October 28, the Ukestra will perform hits from the past to present under the dome at the Maffra Show from 10am.

Then, on Sunday, October 29, Maffra Municipal Band’s 35-piece concert band will perform spooky tunes at the Maffra Memorial Hall’s Halloween Dance Party.

Kerryn Mayne, in conversation with Lisa Ireland, is a free event not to be missed.

Murder on the Orient Express

After a sensational debut last year, KCC Theatre returns to Gippsland stages next month, with their production of Agatha Christie’s classic whodunit Murder on the Orient Express.
