ROADS, power supply, tax, firewood collection and health issues were on the agenda as Member for Gippsland South, Danny O’Brien took his office on the road through Wellington Shire recently.
Mr O’Brien held his regular advertised visits to Loch Sport, Rosedale, Seaspray, Golden Beach, Stradbroke and Gormandale, with a long list of locals coming out to discuss issues of concern to them.
“It is really important as a rural MP to ensure that I’m out and about in your neighbourhood to make it easier for you to share your views with me,” Mr O’Brien said.
“These regular advertised mobile office visits to towns and communities in my electorate are on top of the day-to-day appointments I have with constituents, but ensures everyone gets the chance to come and share their issues with me in their own community.
“Nothing beats a chat sitting on a chair or a log outside a town hall or in your own local community house and this visit was no different.”
Mr O’Brien said the condition of local roads and new taxes introduced by the state government were high on the list of topics people wanted to discuss.
There were also localised issues to follow up for residents and others just coming for a chat about politics and local issues.
