SALE Art Circle Inc. has received a $2500 grant as part of the Wellington Shire Council’s Quick Response Grant program.
With this money, the group has purchased a laptop, eco-printer and projector, all of which will be available for use by Sale Art Circle Inc. members.
The laptop will also help the group’s organisation by storing documents and updating all members via email.
Sale Art Circle say they are very grateful for the support given by Wellington Shire Council, as it has enabled the group to purchase this much-needed technology immediately, rather than having to source money elsewhere.
Sale Art Circle is a not-for-profit group that began in early 2021 with just eight members. This group enables like-minded people to come together to enjoy creating art in whatever form suits the individual, including painting, drawing, knitting, sewing and more.
Once a term, Sale Art Circle organises an artist to deliver a workshop to any interested members. The new technology purchased with money from the Quick Response Grant will support artists in delivering their workshops.
Today, Sale Art Circle has grown to more than 50 members, which recently required them to find a venue that can cater for their needs. They now enjoy their weekly art sessions in the committee rooms at the Sale Showgrounds.
Sale Art Circle is a friendly, supportive and inclusive group that welcomes any interested person to come and visit to see what they offer.
Since its inception, Sale Art Circle has become a support group for people new to the area, retired or at home with family responsibilities, and looking for a social outlet. It has established itself as a great environment to make new friends, enjoy a chat and a cuppa while doing something creative.
Sale Art Circle operates every Wednesday from 10am until 3pm in the Committee Rooms at the Sale Showgrounds with a $5 door cost for participants. Onlookers are free.
