Esso’s Gippsland operations have had a busy year, as they have worked to increase production by 11 per cent to meet market demand.
This is attributable to the hard work and dedication of the teams across the offshore operations: Longford Plants and Long Island Point Plant, and the crucial role they play in safely producing the gas Victoria needs every day.
Longford Plants manager, Clinton Gentle, said it has been a privilege representing Esso Australia in the Gippsland community.
“I have really enjoyed the opportunity to be able to personally see the support we have been able to provide the community in 2022,” Mr Gentle said.
“Earlier this month, I had the pleasure to participate in the unveiling of an amazing sensory garden at the George Gray Centre in Maffra, with the landscaping for the project and accessible swing for the garden funded by Esso Australia.
“The smiles at the opening sure were contagious, and I look forward to many more afforded to visitors in the future.
“I’d like to thank the George Gray Centre for the work they do supporting our community and commend them on a job well done.”
More smiles were seen through further Esso Australia donations.
Each year, the Red Knights host a Sale and District Toy Run, where money is used to purchase food, sporting goods, toys, and books for the event, which are then donated to children in need.
Esso has also been involved in the Lions Club of Sale’s annual Christmas hamper project since 1974, supporting the club to provide 250 hampers for underprivileged families within the community.
On December 10, Esso started the holiday season with some family fun at the second Esso Community Festival.
“I had a truly enjoyable day chatting to the community, listening to spectacular musical talent and indulging in some amazing food,” Mr Gentle said.
“We hope everyone that attended had a wonderful time.
“We are thankful for the range of opportunities we have been afforded to give back to our community.
“The next few years will see us evolve our operations to reflect our changing production footprint and transition to a new business that will play a different but still significant role in Australia’s energy future.
“I wish you and your family a safe and happy holiday season. Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!”
