MOUNT Hedrick Walking Track near Maffra is one of nine new and upgraded trails across the state to explore.
In Gippsland, Mount Hedrick Walk starts at the gateway to the high country and climbs through forest towards the peak of Mount Hedrick with picturesque views of the valley below.

The new trails are part of the state government’s $106.6 million Victoria’s Great Outdoors program to encourage regional tourism and activities.
Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Action Lily D’Ambrosio said that the new trails were a “wonderful and affordable way” to enjoy the outdoors.
“From tough hiking trails through to short walks featuring our most beautiful waterfalls, there’s a great range of options for Victorians to get out and enjoy our state’s spectacular flora and fauna,” she said.
The new trails are:
-Flat Spur Walk, Mount Buller;
-Herman’s Hill, Rainbow;
-Keppel Lookout Trail, Yarra Ranges;
-Latrobe River Walk, Noojee Trail, Toorongo Falls Linking Track, Noojee;
-Mt Hedrick Walk, near Maffra;
-Reid’s Tramline, Powelltown;
-Rubicon Heritage, near Eildon;
-Snobs Creek Falls Walk, near Eildon, and;
-Wirrawilla Rainforest Walk, Toolangi.
