Get ready to roll into a world of fun while having a “crack” at lawn bowls as the Lakeside Club in Sale prepares for its annual “Crackerjack” Lawn Bowls Competition.

Crackerjack is designed to bring local businesses and community groups together for a friendly and enjoyable weekly get-together. Whether you’re looking for a team-building activity with colleagues or want to have a great time with friends, this event is the perfect opportunity to socialise and participate in some friendly competition.

Lakeside Club event coordinator Shane Dove said through Crackerjack, they aim to create an activity where people can come together, enjoy the outdoors, and have a fantastic time.

“Whether you’re a seasoned lawn bowler or a complete beginner, the Lakeside Club welcomes players of all skill levels, even supplying bowls if needed,” he said.

For those unfamiliar with lawn bowls, it’s a sport that combines strategy, precision, and teamwork.

Participants roll their bowls towards a smaller target ball (the jack) on a green. The team that gets their bowls closest to the jack scores points.

It’s a game that’s easy to learn but offers plenty of opportunities for improvement.

Lakeside Bowls Clubs hosts Crackerjack every Tuesday from 6pm until 7.30pm, starting October 24.

“Join us for the start of the competition and soak up the fun and social atmosphere,” Dove said.

“And why not treat yourself to a delicious meal afterwards?”

Teams of four are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible to secure their spot – registrations for Crackerjack close on October 23.
