STAFF at Ashleigh House, Sale will be celebrated next Monday as part of Aged Care Employee Day.
The residential facility is planning a breakfast for employees, cooked by the management team, followed by an afternoon tea of cupcakes and evening of pizza for staff to celebrate the day. They are encouraging everyone to acknowledge those who care for older Australians and say “thanks for caring”.
“We’re asking the community to think about the quiet achievers who provide care with professionalism, compassion and dedication for our loved ones,” Ashleigh House chief executive, Chris Beckman said.
“It’s been a particularly challenging 18 months for aged care workers both in residential and home care services, so in the lead-up to August 7, this is an opportunity to think of the nurses, personal care workers, kitchen staff, cleaners, gardeners, laundry staff, activities coordinators and administration staff and thank them for their care.”
Aged Care Employee Day, is held annually on August 7, is a national awareness day to acknowledge the more than 360,000 people who care for and support around 1.3 million older Australians who require aged care services.
