LOCALS are being encouraged to enter the 2022 Maffra Triathlon.

Hosted by the Riviera Triathlon Club, this year’s ‘Maffra Tri’ promises to be another great event for participants and even better for local clubs, schools, and charities.

Maffra Tri co-ordinator, Anthony Goode, said that every participant could nominate one local club, charity or school they wished to represent.

“The local club with the highest participants wins $750 and the local school with the highest participants wins $750,” Mr Goode said.

“This is a great way to get involved and also support your local club, charity or school.”

Into its fourth year, the Maffra Tri is a semi-competitive community event, designed to satisfy the keen athlete but also provide a great family day of fun.

“The event centres around the Maffra pool and the Maffra Tennis Club”, Mr Goode said.

“Participants take to the pool for a short swim before heading off on bikes and finishing with a run.

“We have different distances for different age groups, so whether you are five or 75, we’d love to see you!”

The 2022 event takes place on Sunday, December 4 from midday at the Maffra Tennis Club.
